Dr. Krystel T. Babaran cares about every aspect of her patients’ lives and health. She attributes her bedside manner and patient-centric approach to her undergraduate training as a nurse. She says, “I learned holistic care, not just concentrating on the physical aspects of the body, but also taking into consideration a patient’s background and emotional health.” Our skilled and trained Austin OBGYN helps patients understand a variety of conditions, such as PCOS and fibroids, while providing individualized treatment to improve their health.

Krystel T. Babaran MD received excellent education and training

Born in Hawaii, but raised in the Philippines, Krystel T. Babaran MD completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Santo Tomas in España, Manila, Philippines. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing, graduating cum laude. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine, graduating magna cum laude.

In 2013, Dr. Babaran moved to Brooklyn, NY and worked as an OBGYN House Office Physician at NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn. She moved to Morristown, New Jersey for residency training at the Atlantic Health System Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program. After completing her residency, Dr. Krystel T. Babaran moved to Austin to serve underserved populations as a physician at a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Organized and personable, Dr. Krystel T. Babaran served in leadership positions throughout her undergraduate school years, medical school and residency. She brings these multi-tasking skills to everyday patient care.

Among the awards she won, Dr. Babaran most highly values her Award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. She received this honor from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists in 2018. Dr. Babaran appreciates the benefits that minimally invasive surgery provide for patients, including a quicker recovery.

An active and caring OBGYN, Dr. Krystel T. Babaran likes to listen to music, watch movies and do Zumba. She enjoys traveling, exploring different cultures and spending time with her family. She has also been active with medical missions, working with Medical Missions, Inc. since 2009.
