Dr. Escarzaga graduated cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. She completed a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center in Fort Worth, TX. She went to medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, TX where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. It was in El Paso, TX where she met her husband and learned Spanish.
She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology in her hometown of Houston, TX at Baylor College of Medicine where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. During residency, she discovered her love for gynecology and minimally invasive surgery while gaining experience in high-risk obstetrics.
Dr. Escarzaga is very involved in ACOG and advocates for women’s health issues both locally in Texas and nationally in Washington DC. She joined Women’s Partners in Health because of their commitment to excellence in women’s health care.
Dr. Escarzaga enjoys live music, hiking, dog parks, and trying new restaurants. She is looking forward to starting her own family in Austin!
