Clarissa Gutierrez MD is a board certified Austin OBGYN


Clarissa Gutierrez MD believes that all women deserve access to world-class women’s healthcare. She knows that every stage and age is different for women. As a result, Dr. Gutierrez offers customized care and treatment plans for each patient.


Dr. Gutierrez brings an impressive background to her patients


Our Austin OBGYN graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in biology. She then earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Clarissa Gutierrez MD went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University.


Specialized licenses and certifications allow her to offer patients leading-edge care. Dr. Clarissa Gutierrez is trained in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Electronic Fetal Monitoring. She has also received training in the da Vinci Surgery method. This is a minimally invasive robotic surgical technique to diagnose and treat gynecologic and fertility issues, such as endometriosis and uterine fibroids.


As an assistant to the Office of Academic Enhancement at the University of Texas Health Science Center, she shared her expertise with the next generation of doctors. Dr. Gutierrez instructed first year medical students, and she continues to seek out academic and research opportunities.


Clarissa Gutierrez MD has many interests outside of work


Proficient in Spanish, she volunteered with International Service Learning, providing medical care to underserved populations in Nicaragua. Dr. Gutierrez also served the community with prenatal care for incarcerated patients at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

Dr. Gutierrez belongs to numerous medical societies, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as a junior fellow, the American Medical Association and the American Medical Women’s Association.
