Laura Meritt MD is a Board Certified Austin GYN
Laura Meritt MD has been committed to providing compassionate and high-quality healthcare to women in the Austin area since 1992. As a founding member of Renaissance Women’s Group, she has helped to build it into the strong and dedicated group of caring and skilled physicians it is today. She has been regularly on the Austin Top Doctor list, as featured in Austin Monthly Magazine.
A physician leader, Dr. Laura Meritt serves as Chief of Staff at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center. She was previously the chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the Credentials Committee.
Dr. Meritt offers a wealth of knowledge from her education
After graduating from Louisiana State University, our Austin GYN completed medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She went to Baltimore for residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Franklin Square Hospital.
As an Austin GYN, Laura Meritt MD believes all women should have access to the care they need
She participates in Project Access, a philanthropic program which provides coordinated healthcare, free of charge, to low income uninsured residents of Travis County. She has also served the community as a previous board member for West Austin Caregivers, an organization which helps metro Austin seniors with transportation needs.
Laura Meritt MD enjoys all aspects of her practice and strives to offer the latest treatment options and techniques to her patients. She received training in robotic minimally invasive surgery, and she enjoys providing this leading-edge technology to Austin area women. She has enjoyed the privilege of assisting in the miracle of childbirth for many years, and has attended over 5,000 births, so it is with mixed emotions that she announced her decision to limit her practice to gynecology beginning July 2016.
Dr. Laura Meritt is the proud mom of three young women. In her leisure time, she enjoys travel, hiking, cycling, and all things outdoors. Contact us to schedule an appointment.
